Hailing from Linares in Andalusia, Chef Salazar began his culinary journey by experimenting with family recipes, influenced by his aunt’s traditional dishes. His talent and determination led him through Spain’s top kitchens before he landed on the island of Mallorca.

In 2019, he opened VORO with the goal of creating a contemporary gastronomic experience rooted in local ingredients and flavors. His efforts were soon recognized with one Michelin star, followed by a second star in 2021, placing VORO firmly on the international culinary map.

Salazar has also been named “Chef of the Year” by La Vanguardia and is consistently ranked among Spain’s most innovative and promising chefs.

VORO offers two seasonal tasting menus:

  • VORO – 18 courses
  • DEVORO – 22 courses

Both menus evolve regularly based on what’s in season and what inspires the kitchen team. Rather than sticking to one theme, the menus are designed to surprise, provoke, and immerse guests in an ever-changing narrative of flavor and texture.

Signature dishes might include:

  • Local prawn tartare with citrus and fermented pepper
  • Charcoal-grilled squid with ink emulsion
  • Sea urchin with fennel and preserved lemon
  • Suckling pig terrine with black garlic and fig

Every element is handcrafted, from house-made ferments and broths to meticulously sourced sea salt and olive oil from local farms.

The wine pairing is equally remarkable, with over 300 labels curated by VORO’s sommelier team, highlighting both rare Spanish vintages and international classics.

The design of the restaurant complements the experience – minimalist, elegant, and intimate. Natural wood tones, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows bring the landscape indoors, letting the beauty of Mallorca become part of the meal.
